No home is perfect, not even a new one. Most major problems with new home construction do not show up for three to five years…long after the builder's warranty has elapsed. Today's construction techniques can be confusing. Building materials and codes are constantly changing. To the untrained eye, it can be bewildering. We can help you get through the maze of the construction process.

Most home builders are reputable and market good quality products. However, even the best builder can make mistakes.

Home builders' income depends on selling the homes they build. The faster a home is built and sold, the faster the home builder will realize his profits. The more homes the builder can build and sell, the more money he will make. Many reputable builders do not actually build homes themselves, but use outside subcontractors to do much of the work. This can often result in a rushed job with missed items, mistakes, cover-ups, and just plain sloppy work. Mistakes made early in the construction process can lead to bigger problems later on, as well as reducing the value of the property in the future.

Building a new home is an exciting time in anyone's life. Yet most buyers don't understand the construction process enough to even know if mistakes are being made. A home is one of the largest investment you'll never make, we can help make sure you get your money's worth.

ACBC Home Inspection Services offers a four-part new home inspection package to help buyers survive the construction 'jungle'.

Inspection 1:

At the completion of the foundation walls being poured, a check of the footings, walls, piers and drains. This is one of the most important times in the building process for the home will only be as good as it's foundation that it rests on.

Inspection 2:

At the completion of framing, an inspection to include framing, roof, basement, windows, doors, floors - all exterior and interior structural components.

Inspection 3:

Prior to drywall, an inspection of rough mechanicals; plumbing, electric, HVAC, ductwork, and insulation. Once the drywall goes on, these are out of sight forever!

Inspection 4:

Prior to final walkthrough, a complete final inspection of the home listing all items to be corrected before closing.
